Manarola,Riomaggiore

  • A short 10 days trip to North Italy, including Genova, Parma, Modena, Cinque Terre, Florence. Too short and too rush for a beautiful country like Italy.
  • The focus was Cinque Terre, all other places were decisions made a day or two beforehand
  • 10 days expense was around 500 Euro.
  • Thanks to the inflation in Hong Kong and the better exchange rate of Euro now, prices in Italy are much more affordable than 10 years ago.
  • Stayed half in backpackers, half in AirBnb. As long as you are not alone, Airbnb is the cheaper and better option now.
  • All bus connections were smooth and on time. All trains were delayed or even stopped running due to strike
  • Ate out everyday, cafe, restaurant, pizzeria, eat all we can see but somehow they were all made of flour
  • a day a gelato, 10 days 10 gelato
  • 3 espresso a day, 30 expresso 10 days
  • Cafe Americano in Italy means an espresso and a cup of hot water served separately
  • It is the best to visit without guidebook and information. Was surprised by the beauty and old architecture everywhere in the old city of Genova, Parma and the Sunday Fiesta in Modena.
  • I like Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, but I don’t like Manarola, Riomaggiore of Cinque Terre
  • Revisited Florence, I loved the midnight live opera with live orchestra in front of Bargello the most.
  • Spoke in Spanish and hoped they would take it as Italian. Ended up all Italians answered back in English.
