- 平價旅館比 backpacker 便宜,只要 you are not a 窿
- very hot
- because it’s hot, people here like drinking cold mate and call it terere. Paraguayans can go out without mobile but not without terere pot and cup
- people are very friendly and helpful but a bit shy
- no specticular scenery or attraction, that’s why tourists are rare
- hotel can be cheaper than backpacker as long as you are not alone
- the north is vast, wild and isolated with only one paved road connecting to Bolivia
- poor, insufficient infarstructure, many kids doing shoe polishing on street
- used to be prosperous but due to the disastrous Triple Alliance War (Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay), 2/3 of adult males died in the war, including the President, Paraguay has become poor ever since
